There's something about the seaside that just asks for photographs to be treated with Instagram. The subject and the medium just work so well together, they bring up our nostalgia for the 'good old days' of buckets & spades, the amusement arcades, 35mm and the warm tones of kodak.
For a few moments we can look at the images and remember a simpler time, when you ran into the sea without thinking of the cold or not caring the tickets you were winning amounted to a cheap picture frame. Then, whilst you're taking that photo with your iPhone, a message pops up from Twitter or the email alert goes and boomf, you're back in the real world. Nice whilst it lasted though eh?
Instagram snaps taken on my trip to Southport at the end of last week.
